Catechism Program

Youth in grades 7 and 8 participate in Trinity's Catechism Program. Through this program youth

  • learn the beliefs of our faith,
  • discover the heritage of the Lutheran denomination,
  • develop Christian relationships, and
  • experience Christian practices, such as
    • prayer,
    • worship, and
    • service.

Our new curriculum, Here we Stand, is intended to develop faith through

  • experiential learning,
  • interactive lessons, and
  • caring small groups.

Lessons are taught on Sunday evenings twice monthly from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Students also gather every Sunday morning from 9:15 - 10:30 for a variety of activities including:

  • small group gatherings
  • pastor-led Bible Studies
  • Living Faith practicum sessions to gain hand on experience about ministry opportunities at Trinity

Throughout the year there are opportunities for retreats, including a Sexuality Retreat and the Youth Quake. In the summer we go together to a week of camp. Parent and volunteer involvement make this program thrive.

Confirmation ends in the Fall of 9th grade, when students put together a Confirmation service to mark the end of their Catechism education and the beginning of their lives as adult members of the church.

After Confirmation, youth become members of the High School Youth Group.
