Tower Symbols

Triangle and Circle - signifies the eternal nature of the Holy Trinity.

XP - represents Chi Rho of the Greek alphabet and is one of the most ancient symbols for Christ.

Rooster  - stands for the Resurrection because the cock announces the dawn of each day.

Inverted Cross - a symbol of St. Peter who was crucified in that position.

Lamp - represents Christ, the Light of the World; also truth, knowledge and enlightenment.

Double-Edged Sword - represents St. Paul; it is the sword of Power and the Sword of Spirit.

Crown - represents the crown of Glory and acknowledges "Our Lord, the King forever."

Alpha and Omega - the first and last letters of the Greek Alphabet. On this grill they mean "Jesus Christ and the church forever, from the beginning to the end."

Patriarchal Cross - a cross with two horizontal arms; the upper is slightly shorter and represents the inscription placed over the head of the Savior when he was crucified.

Anchor - set upright this anchor forms a cross which denotes "Our hope in Christ," or "Jesus Christ, anchor of the soul."

Four Short Rods - dispersed in the grille denoting strength, authority, influence, and power.

IHS - appearing on the sides of the tower and not seen in this picture is an abbreviation of the Greek word IHCOYC for Jesus.
